Saphia’s story:
Saphia embarked on her journey with the Skills Bootcamp in Early Years filled with a blend of nervousness and uncertainty. At a crossroads in her career path, she recognised the potential benefits of the course and decided to take the plunge, hoping to discover where her passions truly lay. Little did she know, this decision would prove vital for her personal and professional growth.
Facing Challenges
As Saphia navigated through the programme, she encountered challenges that tested her resolve. Reflecting on her experience, she shared, “The main challenge for me was the first aid session. I was extremely nervous and doubted my ability to pass. However, the teacher was very helpful and kind, explaining everything slowly and demonstrating all areas extremely well. I left the session feeling confident and ready to save lives!”
Support Along the Way
Throughout her time in the Skills Bootcamp, Saphia felt a strong sense of support that bolstered her confidence. “I’m really grateful for the support and help I received during this Skills Bootcamp. My coaches, Kaisha and Brandon, were always ready to assist me with any questions and concerns. Their kindness and support made a significant difference.”
A Clearer Future
Completing the Skills Bootcamp transformed Saphia’s perspective on her career. “Before this Skills Bootcamp, I was stuck and confused about what I wanted to do with my life. Now, after completing the course, my future seems clearer than ever. The opportunities that this course has opened up for me are exciting, and I now have a clear vision of what I want to achieve in my life.”
Embracing Online Learning
Saphia also appreciated the structure and quality of the online course. “The online course was thorough and covered all the information I will need if I decide to pursue an apprenticeship. My tutors were well-informed and made each lesson easy to understand. I also enjoyed the tasks we were set, such as creating our own toy.”
Advice for New Learners
With her own experience in mind, Saphia offered valuable advice to those considering the Skills Bootcamp. “If you’re having doubts, trust me, it’s worth it! It’s only six weeks long, and you gain useful skills and knowledge that will help you if you’re looking to work in childcare. It also opens many doors. For example, if you don’t want to work in a nursery, you could become a midwife, a social worker, or a speech and language therapist. There are so many benefits, which is what inspired me to join, and I have no regrets.”
