With over four years of experience in the care sector, Ella has built up a career based on compassion, dedication, and a desire to grow. Starting in-home care, she quickly progressed into residential care, where her passion for learning and helping others truly flourished.
Ella’s journey began with six months in home care before moving on to Chocolate Works Care Village, where she worked as a healthcare assistant for two years. It was during this time she decided to take her first formal step in training. “I started my Level 2 qualification and found this gave me more confidence whilst at work,” she said. Her hard work didn’t go unnoticed - she was nominated for a company award and won the ‘Dignity Champion Award’ while studying.
After gaining confidence and recognition from her Level 2 training, Ella progressed to a Senior Care Assistant role and began her Level 3 qualification with Realise. “This has given me a lot of knowledge that I previously didn’t have, so it allows me to work confidently in my role,” she explained. Around the same time, she was again recognised by her company, this time receiving the ‘Front Line Leader’ award.
When asked what prompted her to enrol on another course, she shared, “I am always ambitious to progress within the care sector and thought this would be a great step for myself.” She had just completed her Level 2 qualification and was ready for the next challenge. Realise provided the right support and training environment to help her grow even further.
The training she received through Realise was not only detailed and well-structured but also gave her the tools she needed to thrive in her role. “I received thorough training from Realise that was both knowledgeable and interesting,” she said. “I found it made me more confident within my role as a Senior Care Assistant as I had more knowledge of important legislation.”
While she couldn’t choose a single favourite part of the course, she said, “I enjoyed every part for a different reason.” The entire learning experience left a positive impact.
For her, the benefits of completing the course go beyond just qualifying. “The course makes me feel confident within my role. It’s given me extra information and knowledge I was unaware of previously. And it looks great on my CV!”
When asked what advice she would give to others thinking about taking a course with Realise, she didn’t hesitate: “Go for it! There’s nothing better than having a qualification behind you that is fully funded. It’s a win-win situation. Of course, you must put time and effort into your course but at the end of the day it benefits you.”
She also made sure to acknowledge her tutor who played a key role in her success: “Sarah has been very supportive of me throughout my course journey. She has ensured I had the support I needed to pass my course and put in extra hours to ensure I was confident.”
Reflecting on her journey, she said, “Realise has given me the tools to be a better carer and I can’t thank them enough.”
