About the course

We have created the HR Consultant Level 5 apprenticeship with our specialist HR and L&D practitioners to ensure that the programme reflects the needs and best practice of the industry.

This 24 month blended learning programme will equip you to deal with complex and specialist problems along with the knowledge and skills to create and deliver effective HR solutions.

This course is cost-free to learners. All our programmes are regulated and funded through the government or the apprenticeship levy.

What you’ll learn

The apprenticeship supports and helps individuals to expand their HR skills, take on more responsibility in people management and deepen their HR knowledge to be a highly successful HR Consultant/Business Partner.

As well as completing the apprenticeship, you will also achieve the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management.

How you’ll learn

You’ll benefit from our blended learning programme that is delivered in cohorts, meaning you will be working alongside other like-minded and skilled apprentices throughout your journey, enabling you to form new networks and relationships.

Our blended learning programme typically includes:

  • An expert and dedicated HR specialist trainer providing ongoing training, guidance and support
  • Being part of a cohort of apprentices with peer-to-peer support encouraged
  • Regular one-to-one sessions
  • Workshop sessions
  • Guided learning tasks
  • Remote support as and when you need assistance
  • Progress reviews, including a pre-gateway and final gateway review before end point assessment
  • End point assessment preparation and support ensuring readiness to progress

Frequently asked questions

How much work is involved to gain a level 5 HR qualification?

Expect to spend, on average, one day a week during your working hours to complete work-based projects, assignment writing, workshops and 1-2-1 visits. Assignments can take approximately three days to complete and need to be planned between your workshop and the assignment deadline.

Do HR apprentices need to be a member of CIPD?

Apprentices will be required to hold CIPD Student membership for the duration of
the Apprenticeship. This is an annual membership and is payable by the apprentice or employer. Further information and prices can be found on the CIPD website.

Can I gain a CIPD qualification through a HR apprenticeship?

The HR Consultant/Business Partner Level 5 apprenticeship has CIPD embedded throughout the programme. As well as achieving the apprenticeship, learners will also gain a CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Practice.
