About the course

Our operations/departmental manager programme is designed to support and help those in roles with a responsibility for leading teams and delivering business plans to be successful.

An in-house team of management and leadership experts have created a programme that will instill and embed new skills and confidence in you so that you can drive your career forward.

The apprenticeship brings together the theory and policy of management with practical, interactive learning to improve business performance and your own knowledge, skills and behaviours.

This course is cost-free to learners. All our programmes are regulated and funded through the government or the apprenticeship levy.

Is this course right for you?

This is an ideal programme for those who have management experience and are in a day-to-day senior management and leadership role. Typical jobs of apprentices we support are: Operations Manager, Head of Department and Regional or Divisional Manager.

There are no formal minimum entry requirements to join the programme, these are typically set by your employer. Previous examples have been five GCSEs at Grade C or higher and an appropriate amount of management experience with sufficient exposure and opportunity to be able to fulfil the apprenticeship requirement.

The programme has been invaluable to me. It has been interesting, informative and helped me to recognise my skills and abilities.

Angela Leeding, Realise Performance Manager

I started my career as a management trainee in retail, so I know what it is like to work and do a qualification at the same time.

At the end of my training programme, I progressed from supervisor right through to senior management level. This progression has meant I have learnt and developed a great portfolio of business skills; customer service, business administration, retail and management. I chose to move into apprenticeships in 2007 because I wanted to share my industry knowledge and skills to help develop and support others just starting out in their careers or progressing in their workplace.

I returned back to the retail industry in 2016 as an operations manager to further enhance and enrich my skills and knowledge.

My love of training and development has never left me hence joining Realise in 2022. I enjoy seeing individuals learn and grow in their role and I love being an integral part of their development.
