Our accredited SEN Coordinator (SENCO) programme is expertly designed for those qualified at level 3 or above. The flexible and intensive course focuses on equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become qualified SENCOs in their setting, support SEND children and meet EYFS standards.

This comprehensive online training course is ideal for any employed nursery staff wanting to qualify as a SEN Coordinator for their setting.

Here’s what you can expect:

The online Skills Bootcamp will run for 12 weeks, delivered flexibly to suit the needs and schedule of your setting; participants will gain practical tools to:

  • Identify and support children with a variety of SEND needs.
  • Access and secure appropriate funding for additional support.
  • Complete essential documentation and paperwork with confidence.
  • Implement effective strategies and techniques tailored to individual children within the setting.
  • Navigate referral processes to secure specialist interventions and support services.
  • Mentor and coach colleagues to foster a whole-setting approach to SEND support.

Learners will achieve a level 3 NCFE Cache Award for SEN Coordinators in Early Years Settings, alongside targeted training in:

  • Leadership skills for driving inclusive practice.
  • Safeguarding vulnerable children with SEND.
  • Well-being of SENCOs to manage the challenges of their role effectively.
  • Coaching and mentoring techniques to train and empower other staff to deliver high-quality SEND support.

Learners will attend an online 2.5-hour group study session, twice weekly to develop their learning.

Assessment will include completing a workbook, as well as a variety of class discussions, question and answer sessions and interactive activities.

Yes! You will achieve an industry-recognised qualification when you complete this Skills Bootcamp programme. Learners will achieve a CACHE Level 3 certificate in SEN Coordinators in Early Years Settings.

Who is eligible for the SENCO Skills Bootcamp?

  • Able to prove UK residency for the last 3 years.

How is the Skills Bootcamp funded?

The course is funded by your local combined authority*.

For small and medium-sized organisations (SME), 90% of the cost is covered by the authority, with the remaining 10% being paid by the employer.

In large organisations with 250 + employees, the local authority will fund 70% of the cost, with the remaining 30% being paid by the employer.
