Designed for individuals looking to enter the adult care sector, this regulated qualification provides an introduction to the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to work in a care role. You'll explore the fundamentals of adult social care, including person-centred care, communication, safeguarding, professional values and the responsibilities of care workers.
Alongside the qualification content, you'll also develop valuable employability skills, including communication, digital skills, teamwork and confidence in the workplace.

Eligibility:
- Unemployed or earning under the wage threshold of £26,227.50 and looking to work in an adult social care setting
- Aged 19 or over as of 31st August 2026
- Ordinarily resident in the UK
- Have the right to live and work in the UK
Upon successful completion, learners will achieve the TQUK Level 1 Award in Preparation for Work in Adult Social Care, providing a strong foundation for further training or employment within the care sector.
