About the SENCo NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award

The demand for skilled SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) practitioners in the early years sector has never been greater. With a growing number of children presenting with diverse and specific needs, there is an urgent need to equip early years professionals with the expertise to provide effective, inclusive, and compassionate support.

Our accredited SEN Coordinator (SENCO) programme is expertly designed for those qualified at level 3 or above. The flexible and intensive course focuses on equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become qualified SENCOs in their setting, support SEND children and meet EYFS standards.

This comprehensive online training course is ideal for any employed nursery staff wanting to qualify as a SEN Coordinator.

Some of the topics covered on the programme include:

  •  Strategies and techniques workshop.
  • The graduated approach.
  • Funding, referrals, and Education Health Care Plans (EHCP)
  • Supporting children with social, emotional, speech and communication needs.
  • Early identification and action.
  • Exploring the SEND code of Practice and legislation.
  • Working in partnership with parents and professionals

  • 24 guided learning hours.
  • 2 sessions per month (3 hours per session, for 4 months)

Yes, you can still enrol on the Skills Bootcamp – the course will refresh existing knowledge and skills. Learners who have existing early years qualifications would not be suitable to interview for a Level 3 Apprenticeship after the course but Realise will still support those learners in securing a job at the appropriate level.

Yes, the Skills Bootcamps provide you with a very hands-on learning experience. Learners will join group live learning sessions every week.
