About the course
Security Industry Authority Course – SIAThis fully funded Level 2 SIA course allows you to gain the qualifications you need to take your first step into the private security industry.
Qualifications:
- Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3
- Award in Door Supervisor Level 2
The course is led by expert tutors and delivered in a classroom setting, giving you the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to move into work in the security sector.

This course includes physical activity, so it's important to understand the demands before enrolling.
You must be in suitable physical and emotional health to take part, as some elements of the training are physically demanding. If you are unsure, you should seek medical advice from your GP before attending.
If you have an existing medical condition or are taking prescribed medication, please seek appropriate medical advice. Do not put yourself or others at risk.
On arrival for training, you must inform the tutor of any health-related condition that could affect your safety or the safety of others.
Please note that tutors are not medically qualified.
What you will learn:
Topics covered:
- Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid
- Principles of working in the private sector industry
- Principles of working as a door supervisor
- Application of conflict management in the private security industry
- Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry
- Employment skills
How you will learn:
You'll take part in practical training for physical intervention skills, alongside learning for the Door Supervisor qualification, which includes multiple-choice tests.
At the end of the course, you will have a guaranteed interview with an employer. (Subject to pre-screening checks that may be carried out by the employer).
Eligibility:
You must be a West Yorkshire resident, be aged 19 or over on 31 August 2025, be ordinarily resident in the UK, and have the right to live and work in the UK.
You must be unemployed or employed and earning less than £25,750 per year. If you are employed and earn above this threshold, you may still be eligible.
You must also be able to attend every day and be looking for employment within the Security Sector.
