Wellington’s Day Nursery is a welcoming and vibrant setting where children are encouraged to explore, learn and grow through play. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for every child.As an apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting children’s learning and development while gaining valuable experience in a professional childcare environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with planning engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
• Supporting the daily routine, including setting up and tidying activities and mealtimes
• Acting as a key person for a small group of children, ensuring their individual needs are met
• Carrying out observations and maintaining up-to-date developmental records
• Supporting children’s learning through play and providing appropriate guidance
• Working in partnership with parents, carers, and team members
• Ensuring children are safe at all times and following safeguarding procedures
• Supporting personal care tasks including nappy changing and potty training
• Assisting with rest time routines, including setting up and packing away beds
• Maintaining confidentiality at all times
• Following all nursery policies, including health & safety and safeguarding
• Helping with general day-to-day nursery duties and being flexible across rooms
• Attending staff meetings, training sessions and contributing to team discussions
• Reporting any concerns to the Manager or Deputy Manager

- Previous experience is childcare is preferred

Training to be Provided
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
