Vacancy Detail

As an Early Years Apprentice at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery, you will play an important role in supporting the care and development of young children. With guidance, you will contribute to maintaining high standards across the nursery, including the learning environment and resources, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. Your responsibilities will include preparing and supervising activities, ensuring children are safe and supported at all times, and promoting equal opportunities for all. You will be expected to act as a positive role model, maintain confidentiality, and build professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers. You’ll also be responsible for reporting any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Officer, adhering to health and safety policies, and participating in staff meetings, planning sessions, and training. This role requires a positive attitude, teamwork, and a commitment to upholding the nursery’s values.

Qualifications required

  • GCSE – grades 5-9/A-C - preferable
  • Experience of, and commitment to, outdoor learning i.e., Forest School. Understanding of Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
  • Experience of supporting children within a Nursery setting - desirable

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
