Norbury Hill Cubs is an Ofsted-registered nursery with over 18 years of experience, committed to delivering high-quality early years education. We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic Nursery Apprentice with a genuine passion for working with children and a desire to complete a Level 3 Early Years qualification.

As a Nursery Apprentice, you will support qualified practitioners while gaining hands-on experience in a nurturing and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework
• Assist with planning activities that support children’s learning and development
• Observe, assess, and record children’s progress
• Act as a key person for a group of children (with support)
• Ensure the safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing of all children at all times
• Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

Qualifications required

  • No prior qualifications required — all training will be provided as part of the apprenticeship. GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C or above desirable but not essential.

Future Prospects

Upon successful completion of the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship, there is the opportunity for a permanent position as a qualified Level 3 practitioner at Norbury Hill Cubs. We are a growing setting that values and invests in our staff.

Other Information

This role involves working directly with young children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Applicants must be comfortable with all aspects of personal care. The role requires a full enhanced DBS check.

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
