At Blossom Tree Montessori we believe that nursery is more than daycare – it’s the start of your child’s education, preparation for school, and the foundation for a strong and healthy life ahead. We’re looking for people who share our commitment to excellence in early years childcare and education.
You will work across all 3 of our sites, located in the Pinner area.

As an early years apprentice you will;

● Assist in carrying out the planning and prioritising of the activities and progress in the room in order to create and develop a stimulating environment following Montessori principles.
● Deliver a high level of quality childcare whilst maintaining a professional and positive outcome for both children and staff.
● Communicate with their line manager/room leader regarding the activities and progress within the room and any duties necessary to be completed conducive of a well-run classroom.
● Be responsible for ensuring that all children within their room are safe and secure.
● Build effective relationships with all team members and parents within the room when needed. Generally Apprentices do not have contact with parents, however, it may be a necessary responsibility handed over by a Keyworker or Room Leader on a given day.
● Follow codes of safe working practices for both children and staff and comply with the Blossom Tree Montessori’s Health and Safety Policy.
● Report any concerns in relation to the wellbeing and safeguarding of children and staff as outlined in the company’s policies and procedures and also set by Local Authority.
● Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development for themselves and others.
● Reflect on working practices within their room to improve the quality of childcare provided.
● Attend and participate in staff meetings & training when requested.

Qualifications required

  • Minimum of 1 years experience of relevant nursery, childcare experience with children aged 0-5 years
  • Mathematics GCSE Grade 4 Desired
  • English GCSE Grade 4 Desired

  • A passion for working with children.
  • To be reliable, flexible and work cooperatively.

Skills required

  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality, honesty and integrity.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with children, families and colleagues

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
