Every day is different at RAFAKidz Nursery, where you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills while working with children, colleagues, and families in a supportive and passionate environment. Located on station at RAF Worthy Down, RAFAKidz proudly serves military families and the local community, offering unique, child-focused experiences. As a Nursery Apprentice, you’ll work as part of a dedicated team to deliver high-quality care and learning for children aged 0–5. Your responsibilities will include supporting children’s development, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, building strong partnerships with parents and carers, and assisting with record-keeping in line with the EYFS and Ofsted requirements. You’ll also gain valuable experience by supporting Key Persons and participating in nursery activities. - GCSE Maths/English or equivalent, or willingness to work towards the required level of functional skills alongside the apprenticeship.

- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to write clear and accurate records
- Ability to competently use IT for report writing, outlook, online training etc
- Calm, caring and unflustered
- Approachable, cheerful and engaging personality
Skills required
- A good understanding of maintaining confidentiality regarding all aspects of nursery work.
- Previous experience, working or volunteering as child minder, in a Preschool or Nursery setting
- An understanding of the key principles of safeguarding children
- Able to demonstrate understanding of Child development or the Early Years Foundation Stage

Onsite Parking, DBS required and paid for, You will need to obtain a pass for the base, that the nursery will help obtain.Training to be Provided
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
