Vacancy Detail

As an Apprentice Nursery Educator, you will be part of a friendly and supportive team, responsible for a group of key children, planning and completing observations, and ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all children at all times.

Duties include;
• To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the nursery.
• To ensure all children are safeguarded and their welfare and safety is promoted and give support to other team members throughout the nursery. To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment.
• To maintain the upkeep of your Practical Training Record
• To understand the value and principles of the childcare sector and implant in your daily routine with the children
• To follow the EYFS when caring for children
• To support and promote diversity and equality
• To gain a good understanding of child development and how this is important when caring for children
• To contribute to children’s observations and records when required
• Ensure that you work as part of a team towards a common goal sharing ideas and feedback to create consistency
• To build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and other professionals.
• To understand and promote the ethos of the nursery and uphold the highest standards of childcare.

Qualifications required

GCSE grades 4 and below in Maths and English desired but not essential

Personal qualities

You should have a strong interest in working with children to help them develop and grow.
You should demonstrate a good work ethic and be able to communicate effectively with the people around you, making sure that you treat both other staff and children with respect and care at all times.

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
