Vacancy Detail

As an Early years Apprentice, you will assist nursery practitioners and teachers at Willows Pre School in providing high-quality care and early years education for children, ensuring their physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Child Care and Supervision
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities.
• Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.
• Assist with feeding, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene routines.
• Comfort and support children who may be upset, anxious, or unwell.
• Help children develop independence and self-care skills.

You will support the learning and development of young children by assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play, storytelling, music, arts and crafts, and educational games. You will help to encourage children's language, communication, social, and emotional development while observing their progress and sharing feedback with senior staff.

The role also involves creating a stimulating and nurturing learning environment, maintaining high standards of health, safety, and hygiene, and ensuring all safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed. You will be responsible for helping to keep play areas and equipment safe and suitable for use while supporting the overall wellbeing and development of the children in your care.

Qualifications required

  • Grade 4 GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) preferred

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
