Apprentice Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work (under supervision) with children in the Setting, to provide all aspects of care and supporting learning opportunities, which may include washing, changing and feeding

2. Undertake training to obtain recognised qualifications, including completing assignments on time, and attending all College sessions/ tutorials (if applicable)

3. Uphold standards within the Setting by adhering to all policies and procedures

4. Strive to safeguard children by working to the organisation’s safeguarding Code of Conduct

5. Assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children

6. Provide adult interaction with children in the Setting

7. Know and implement the Setting’s confidentiality policy

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
