Vacancy Detail

As an Early Years Apprentice at Twisty Tails Nurseries, you will work alongside experienced practitioners to provide high-quality care and education while developing your own knowledge and skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Following and promoting all Twisty Tails Nurseries policies, procedures, and staff rules. Developing an understanding of child development and supporting children's learning through positive play experiences. Providing high-quality care, supervision, and support for the children in your assigned group, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.

- Building positive relationships with children and their families, treating everyone with respect, dignity, and care. Creating a stimulating, inclusive, and nurturing environment that encourages children to develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Providing a warm, caring, and consistent environment for babies and young children.

- Supporting children with additional needs, working closely with senior staff to promote their welfare, development, and inclusion. Encouraging positive behaviour using appropriate behaviour management strategies. Carrying out housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming nursery environment.

- Supporting the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and ensuring all statutory requirements are met. Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of nursery life. Following all health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for children, staff, and visitors.

- Supporting senior staff in implementing safeguarding and child protection procedures and reporting any concerns appropriately. Maintaining confidentiality regarding all information relating to the nursery, children, families, and staff.

- Completing all coursework and attending out-of-hours training sessions required to achieve your Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification. Working positively as part of the nursery team, contributing to a supportive and collaborative working environment.

- Promoting positive relationships with colleagues, parents, carers, and children, acting as a positive ambassador for Twisty Tails Nurseries at all times.

Qualifications required

Future Prospects

You can become a qualified practitioner in early years and progress on to leadership roles.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Functional skills in Maths and English if required
