About Richard Waite

Richard Waite is the founder of Waite.EYTS and works alongside early years professionals to support confident, sustainable practice in STEAM, technology integration, AI (safe/ethical use) and online safety. With 38 years’ experience in Early Years Care & Education, Richard’s approach is practical, play-based and focused on improving quality without adding unnecessary workload.

Richard is a regular webinar host, trainer and speaker, delivering sessions for the sector on STEAM, digital literacy and online safeguarding, and Men in Childcare. He has appeared as a keynote/panel speaker at events including TACTYC Annual Conference (2024, 2025) and Nursery World Big Event (2025) and has delivered sessions for organisations across the early years and education space.

He also writes and contributes to sector content, including contributing to the Play Matters Guide (Chapter 5: Play and Technology), and produces practical articles and resources to support settings, as well as course module content for The National College.

Qualifications and professional background include a BSc (Hons) Information Management & Education Studies, A level English Literature, NNEB Diploma, and EPICT Certificate in Online Safety.
