A new training and skills hub allowing West Yorkshire residents to seek expert advice on upskilling and improving their employment prospects has been opened in Huddersfield.
Realise, one of the UK’s leading training providers, has opened an outlet in the Packhorse Shopping Centre as part of its West Yorkshire Adult Education Budget contract.
Staff will be on-site between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, to offer advice and insight into the apprenticeships and training courses available – including functional skills maths and English, and digital skills – while tutoring will also take place.
The hub’s official launch was held this week, with dignitaries from the Department for Work and Pensions, West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Kirklees Council amongst those in attendance.
Training in employment and vocational skills – including health and social care – will be available at Realise’s Packhorse Shopping Centre outlet, while classroom sessions for a scheme designed to deliver 400 new bus drivers to West Yorkshire will also take place there.
Realise supports more than 7,000 learners and thousands of employers across the UK every year.
