Leanne’s story:
Leanne Knight, a former Assistant Manager at the University of Huddersfield, has always been driven to make a positive impact.
After taking time off to raise her two young children and help with her husband’s business, she recognised the need to boost her skills before taking the next step in her career. That’s when a free Level 2 Maths course with Realise made all the difference.
Why Leanne enrolled
When asked why she chose the Functional Skills Level 2 Maths course, Leanne shared:
“I found the course through an online search. I wanted to go back to University to study physiotherapy and help my children with their Maths in the future. This course seemed like the perfect way to refresh my Maths skills and work towards my goals.”
The course
GCSE-level Maths is often a key requirement for university admission. The free Functional Skills course, equivalent to a GCSE, can open the door to higher education opportunities.
This online course is completely free and focuses on the practical application of maths in everyday life. Spanning 8 to 28 weeks, it offers a great opportunity for those seeking a maths qualification. Participants will build confidence, improve their maths skills, and receive comprehensive support throughout the course.
A bright future
We asked Leanne about the impact of the course on her life, and she explained: “The course has significantly enhanced my Maths abilities and has also increased my confidence.
“It has shown me that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. I now feel equipped to assist my children with their Maths and am ready to tackle the challenge of studying physiotherapy at university.”
Advice to others
Leanne is now advising others to undertake the Functional Skills Level 2 Maths course, she shared: “I wholeheartedly recommend Realise to anyone seeking to enhance their skills and unlock new opportunities.”
