Ryan Adams used to work as a supervisor at an auction company, operating large plant equipment and vehicles. However, his passion for driving large vehicles and his desire to gain new skills led him to enrol in the Route to Success course offered by Realise.

The Route to Success programme offers a fully funded course for individuals who have a Category B (car) licence, equipping them with the necessary skills to become a bus driver, including obtaining their licence. The course is delivered by Realise and made available through funding from South Yorkshire Combined Authority.

When asked why he wanted to complete the Route to Success course, Ryan said:

“I started the course to gain new skills and to hopefully become a bus or coach driver. I’ve always had an interest in driving large vehicles, whether for personal satisfaction or as part of my employment.”

Ryan’s commitment to learning and self-improvement is evident in his approach to work and study. He prides himself on his ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, and he isn’t afraid to ask for help when he needs it.

Ryan is also driven by his family, it’s one of his main motivations, he shared:

“I’m a family man. I do all I can for my family and extended family. I strive to give them the best I can possibly do, and I will work hard to achieve this.”

Ryan has now started a new chapter in his career at Wilfreda Beehive, a family-owned business in South Yorkshire specialising in coach holidays. Thanks to the Route to Success programme, he was able to secure this opportunity and is now looking forward to a promising future in the coach industry.
