Celebrating Success: Grandir UK's Apprentice of the Year Winner!

Recognising the incredible work of Grandir UK's apprentices after National Apprenticeship Week 2025.

National Apprenticeship Week 2025 has come to an end, and what an inspiring week it has been! At Realise, we are committed to shaping, supporting and developing the future Early Years workforce which includes the talented apprentices in the Grandir UK Early Years Apprenticeship Programme.

This blog will spotlight apprentices who have been recognised for their hard work and dedication through our Apprentice of the Year award and explore the impact of Early Years apprenticeships as a whole.

Recognising outstanding early years apprentices

Early years apprenticeships act as the perfect career launchpad for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in children lives. Those who undergo an apprenticeship are provided with the invaluable skills, knowledge and experience needed to provide the best possible care and education to young children.

This year, several Grandir UK apprentices were recognised for their incredible performance and commitment, and we’re delighted to celebrate their achievements!

Annie Griggs: Apprentice of the Year 2024/2025

Annie Griggs who’s an apprentice at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Hitchin took home our Realise Apprentice of the Year award!

Annie is currently studying for her Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification and is doing a phenomenal job! Her commitment to learning and her positive impact on the children in her care make her a truly deserving winner of this award.

If I hadn’t completed the apprenticeship, I would not have as much self-confidence. I got told from a young age at school that I wouldn’t achieve anything from my life with my poor school attendance.

Annie Griggs

Throughout school I struggled with severe anxiety and struggled to get there most days, this lead to teachers’ negative words and lack of belief in me.

I now look back at what I have achieved: coming out of school with 6 GCSE’S and now a Distinction in Level 2 childcare, multiple awards, both regional and national nominations in the childcare world, and think how I proved everyone wrong. Without the apprenticeship, I really don’t know where I’d be now.

Celebrating our shortlisted apprentices

We are also incredibly proud of the Grandir UK apprentices who were shortlisted for the Apprentice of the Year award and received certificates of achievements – their hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Each of these apprentices have displayed exceptional commitment to their learning journey whilst making a great impact on fellow apprentices and the children around them.

Realise & Grandir UK: a winning partnership for apprenticeship excellence

At Realise, we believe in the power of apprenticeships to shape the future of early years education. Early years apprenticeships provide an invaluable opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on nursery experience while earning a qualification, setting them up for long-term success in the sector.

Our partnership with Grandir UK ensures that apprentices receive high-quality efficient training, expert mentorship, and the support they need to thrive throughout their journey.
