Are you ready to fasten your seat belt and start steering your career by joining Metroline, the newest member of the Bee Network? No bus driving experience? No problem. We’ll give you all the training and support you need to get behind the wheel and earn while you learn.
Is this course right for you?
Do you have:
- a full, valid and clean UK driving licence that you’ve held for at least 6months?
- a positive, professional attitude and excellent communication skills to engage and assist passengers from all walks of life?
- the ability to work varying shifts, including early starts, late finishes and occasional weekends?
If so, this could be your dream role!
Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll be supported by an expert team and follow a programme designed by leading passenger transport operators, giving you a high-quality learning experience created by the sector, for the sector.
What you’ll learn
We’ll provide everything you need to become a passenger transport professional during our 8-month apprenticeship programme. This includes gaining your PCV licence, on-bus mentoring, developing customer service skills, and learning your routes.
You’ll also have the option to complete functional skills training to achieve formal qualifications in Maths and English.
How you’ll learn
Our experienced team will support you throughout your apprenticeship. With extensive industry knowledge, they’ll guide you every step of the way and share practical insights to help you succeed. You can expect:
- a dedicated trainer, providing ongoing guidance, training and support
- practical assessments and on-bus observations, including within the depot environment
- workshop sessions delivered at a local depot or remotely via Zoom
- 24/7 access to a range of online learning materials and resources
- support from your employer to help you meet the requirements of the programme
- regular progress reviews, including a pre-gateway and final gateway review before your end point assessment
- preparation and support for your end point assessment to make sure you’re ready to progress
- and, if you want, additional support from English and Maths tutors

With a background as a qualified bus driver myself, I bring real-world insight into the training process, ensuring learners are fully supported throughout their journey. I'm passionate about improving service standards and contributing to the next generation of transport professionals.
