Built for people stepping up into management
The Passenger Transport Operations Manager Level 4 apprenticeship is designed for people who are new to management or stepping up, such as team leaders or supervisors, schedulers or allocators, duty managers or assistant operations managers, and others with responsibility for people or performance.
Safety and compliance run through every stage of this programme. Risk assessments, audits, security procedures, legal and contractual obligations and incident response are covered throughout, so your managers take real ownership of a safe, compliant operation.
Course overview
Your managers have their own dedicated trainer, providing coaching, guidance and support throughout the programme. Learning combines live remote workshops with short activities that help the managers reflect on what they’ve learnt and apply it directly within their role.
The programme is structured with clear milestones. At the end of each one, the manager and their line manager meet with the trainer to review progress before moving forward, giving you clear visibility of their development throughout the programme.
Safety and compliance are built into every milestone:
- Quality and improvement
- Customers and stakeholders
- Leadership, people and resources
- Operational excellence
- Preparing for end-point assessment
Through each milestone, managers develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the apprenticeship standard, while applying their learning to the realities of your operation.
What it means for your business
- Less disruption: managers make confident decisions under pressure, solve operational problems and tackle issues before they escalate
- Accountable teams: clear objectives, consistent standards and performance issues dealt with early
- More reliable services: managers use operational data and passenger feedback to identify improvements and make better informed decisions.
- Better outcomes for passengers: complaints handled well and service standards kept up during disruption
Turn learning into business improvement
Each manager completes a project on a genuine operational challenge in your organisation, such as reducing disruption, improving compliance, using resources more effectively or strengthening team performance.
They analyse the issue, act and evaluate the outcome, connecting their development directly to a business priority.
