Functional Skills is about the practical application of English. This means how you actually use these skills in real life situations.​
This course is a great opportunity for those looking to gain their English qualification. The skills learnt can help to improve performance, boost confidence and support both business and personal growth.
They are respected qualifications that are accepted as GCSE D-G (or 3-1) equivalents giving the foundation skills to progress to Level 2 which are accepted as GCSE A-C (or 9-4) equivalents. ​Completing your Functional Skills can aid your progression within your current place of work​.
This course is free to learners.

Eligibility:
  • Have lived in the UK for the past 3 years
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK.
  • You are eligible if you are over the age of 19 and are either employed or unemployed.

Please note: IT equipment is required, and Greater Manchester residents must be unemployed to qualify for funding.
