Business admin apprenticeships with newcomers in mind

New recruits across multiple sectors can now learn the ropes and take the next step in their progression after the re-launch of our Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship.

Realise is offering a levy funded Level 3 apprenticeship to give people the skills they need to work in a wide variety of business administration roles.

For employers, it’s an ideal opportunity to upskill staff and instil a spirit of best practice. Realise forges strong relationships with employers to support their wider L&D strategy and ongoing CPD for a diverse mix of staff.

Unlike many providers, Realise offers an entry-level pathway specifically for people who are completely new to the workplace.

Using this solution, learners study for an additional three-months – 15 months in total – to ensure they have the opportunity to learn the basics of the industry they are in and the relevant behaviours.

The first three months of the course can be heavily tailored to suit the specific employer.

A programme for all levels of experience

For learners who have some experience already, the advanced pathway can be completed in 12 months.

Karen Matthews, Partnerships Manager at Realise, said:

“We are delighted to unveil our revamped business administrator apprenticeship which we believe offers our learners a fantastic way to develop their skills.

“Where we excel is by offering the entry-level option for those who are either completely new to the world of work, or fresh to the sector.

“We found that some learners embarking on business administrator apprenticeships lacked the foundation knowledge required, particularly if this was their very first experience of an office environment.

A better fit for a variety of learners

“The programme wasn’t always able to meet their needs, but the additional three months of study ensure that those building blocks are in place before the learner progresses to the advanced pathway.

“Those additional months can be highly bespoke to the organisation the learner is within and the industry more widely. It’s an opportunity for the learner to delve into what is appropriate within the context of their setting.”

Business admin is everywhere

Realise typically offers business administrator courses to councils, local authorities, larger financial institutions, healthcare organisations and childcare services, but business administration is at the heart of almost every business in the public, private and third sector.

A qualification that opens doors

The apprenticeship has been designed by curriculum and sector experts from a range of different industries to support learners who wish to progress on their chosen pathway, such as towards senior support roles, project managers or management positions.

The programme is delivered flexibly with no fixed start dates and is cost-free to learners. The course can be funded through the apprenticeship levy.

Karen added:

“There are many misconceptions about business admin, such as a lack of progression options or just that it is a boring profession. Neither are true – there are some fantastic opportunities available and it can really open doors.

From entry-level to advanced

“We recognise the rich mix of entry-level and experienced business administration professionals who are seeking career advancement and we are committed to helping them achieve their goals.

“We have expert trainers who are on hand every step of the way, as well as a rich resource library allowing learners to stretch and challenge themselves. We are there as facilitators and mentors.”
