Georgia Todd, a 19-year old hairdressing apprentice with Realise has been recognised as a potential ‘star of the future’ by Schwarzkopf Professional.

Level 2 hairdressing qualification

The ambitious apprentice works a Rick Roberts salon in Beverley. Whilst working at the salon, Georgia has completed a level 2 hairdressing qualification with Realise and is currently studying towards a level 3 qualification.

Georgia applied for the prestigious Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Team (YAT) programme after an annual call for applicants in early 2020. In March, Georgia was invited to attend a judging day.

Judging took place in London and saw finalists showcasing their skills, technique and creativity to a panel of industry experts. Georgia was asked to cut Schwarzkopf pre-coloured hair and then given free rein to show-off her personality by creating a distinctive look.

It wasn’t long before Georgia was announced as one of the winners and set to embark on a full year of exciting opportunities.

Speaking about the triumph, Georgia told us: “Winning this means I am now officially a member of the Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Team. Six people aged 16 to 25 get on the team each year, amazingly, I got into the six!

“Now I have got into the team I have a year full of training with big-name hairdressers. I’ll be going to different events and helping on photo shoots. So life is going to be incredibly busy.”

It means so much that I’ve got onto this team. It’s such a big achievement and a huge step for my career. To be doing this at 19 years old is insane and I can’t wait to see what will happen next.”

Judy Li, Training and Development Officer at Realise said: “Georgia is a true professional. She’s always willing to learn new techniques and update her skills.

“I’ve worked with Georgia for a while now as she completed her level 2 hair qualification with me before her level 3. Georgia has entered competitions before but never as big as this one.

Georgia has worked incredibly hard to get where she is and the team at Realise are very proud of her.”
