Sharlet Wadley is a passionate Room Leader at Amaryllis Nursery in Manchester. Like many in her role, she’s dedicated to providing the best care for the children in her setting while managing her team effectively. To help her grow as a leader, Sharlet decided to enrol in our brand-new Room Leader CPD course.

Sharlet wanted to build her confidence and learn practical strategies for managing her team. She aimed to develop the skills needed to handle challenging situations and lead with clarity. “I wanted to gain strategies and knowledge to help me be a better leader,” she said.

Right from the start, Sharlet felt the impact of the course. “After the first session, I found myself reflecting on my practice and looking at ways to improve,” she shared. The course’s interactive approach, with group activities and discussions, made the learning process engaging and directly applicable to her work.

The repetition of key concepts like ‘shadow of a leader’ helped Sharlet remember and use what she learned. The practical, hands-on nature of the course ensured that she could start applying new skills immediately.

Sharlet quickly noticed a difference in how she managed her team. She felt more equipped to handle difficult conversations and set clear boundaries. “I’m now better at understanding my staff and navigating tough conversations,” she explained. These skills have helped her lead more effectively, resulting in better outcomes for her team and the children in her care.

Sharlet also appreciated the course leader, Lindsey, for making the sessions relatable and engaging. “Lindsey’s passion and real-life examples made the training easy to connect with,” Sharlet noted. The course gave her the tools she needed to continue growing as a leader.
