Realise helped Jorono go from charity work to a career in customer service

Moving to a new country comes with many challenges, and for Jorono, upskilling was a priority. After arriving in the UK, he was eager to gain new qualifications and build a career. With the support of his job coach, Jorono discovered Realise and enrolled in our Level 2 Customer Service course, seeing it as the perfect opportunity to develop essential skills and improve his job prospects.

Building experience through charity work

Before starting the course, Jorono was actively involved in charity work for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, where he worked on stock-taking and price checks. This hands-on experience helped him understand the importance of organisation and customer interactions. However, Jorono recognised the need for formal training to improve his confidence and knowledge in a structured way.

Gaining confidence and preparing for success

With aspirations of securing a professional customer service role, Jorono found our Level 2 Customer Service course incredibly beneficial. “I felt like I was doing the right thing, and it was a step in the right direction to me finding a job,” he shared. It particularly helped when it came to interview preparation. “The course massively helped with my interview skills. It gave me the confidence to pass the interview.”

Jorono successfully landed a job as a customer service agent with 24/7 Blinds, a role he was excited to step into. The course not only provided practical knowledge but also helped him develop essential soft skills like communication, problem-solving, and handling customer queries professionally.

An engaging and supportive learning experience

One of the standout aspects of the course was the interactive and engaging teaching style of the trainers. “There was never a dull moment. Sally and Craig were very inclusive and helpful. I liked that it was always fun and engaging and not strait-laced as most classroom learning.” Jorono recalled. The trainers ensured that every learner felt supported, creating an environment where everyone could ask questions, participate, and gain confidence in their abilities.

Looking to the future

The course had such a positive impact that Jorono even considered enrolling in another course with Realise if he wasn’t successful in securing the job. This reflects his commitment to continuous learning and the trust Jorono placed in Realise’s training programmes.

Now, as Jorono embarks on his new career journey, he is equipped with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the customer service industry. “To date, this has made a positive difference in my life. It prepared me for the job I successfully secured, thanks to Realise. I can now better provide for myself and put things in place for me to continue to develop myself.” Jorono shared.

Jorono’s story is a great example of how the right training and support can open doors to new opportunities and help people thrive in their professional lives.
