Magdalena's Teaching Assistant success story

Magdalena's Teaching Assistant success story

Magdalena Zielinski joined our Teaching Assistant course as the first stepping stone towards her long-term goal of becoming a teacher. With a background in sports coaching for autistic adults and previous studies in sports, she was ready for a new direction, but unsure where to begin.

A new start and a boost in confidence

Before enrolling, Magdalena felt uncertain about the British education system and her place within it.
“As I am Polish and only completed a university degree, I had no idea what the British education system is like or what to expect,” she explained. “I lacked confidence and knowledge. I was not sure if this was the right path for my life.”

The Teaching Assistant course quickly changed that.

A learning experience that inspired

Magdalena embraced every part of the programme.
“I met fantastic people, learned a lot about the British education system, safeguarding, child development and much more,” she said. “We had a lot of giggles, but also did lots of learning. I liked the practical tasks a lot - I think I learnt more from them.”

The blend of hands-on learning, supportive peers, and knowledgeable tutors helped her build the skills, and belief in herself, to step confidently into a new career.

Career success: A new job within a week

The impact of the course was immediate:

“YES!! This course helped me get a new job,” Magdalena said. “I had a few interviews and was well-prepared for all the questions I was asked. A week after this course, I got a job as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN school. I love this job and cannot imagine doing anything else now.”

Not only did she secure meaningful employment, but she also took the next step towards her dream:
“The next step is teacher training, which I have already applied for in the same school where I am working now.”

Positive life changes beyond the classroom

Since gaining employment, Magdalena reports a complete shift in her wellbeing:
“Everything has changed for the better! My confidence has grown, and both my financial and family situations have improved. I now work while my children are at school and enjoy taking days off when they do. I no longer have to worry about childcare for them. I'm calmer, happier and I love every moment at work.”
