About the course

This course will help you to develop your confidence, skills and knowledge of food and gardening as well as showing you the benefits of outdoor wellbeing.

You’ll have the opportunity to get hands-on with this short course as all learning will be outside with trainer guiding and adivsing you on how to use tools, repurpose soil and grow a variety of plants, including how to produce your own food.

The six-week course will cover aspects of gardening and will help you to feel the benefits of spending time outdoors.

 

Please note there is no certification once you have passed the course.

What you’ll learn

We will cover a range of useful, informative and exciting topics with you on the course so that you will feel confident, independently creating your own outdoor space.

You will take part in six sessions which will cover:

· How food grows

· Compost

· Seedlings and germination

· Sustainable gardening

· Worms, insects and pests

· Home garden set up and maintenance

How you’ll learn

You will spend a period of time inside a classroom learning about how different aspects of gardening works which is quickly followed by putting this into practice in our garden at the Bradford Skills hub.
