This course is designed for those who already have basic barbering skills and aims to enhance and develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours you already have.
Full hairdressing training is not given as this is a diploma only course.
This course is right for you if you are already working in a salon or barbers and want to gain a recognised hair qualification in order to advance your career.

| Before becoming a barber, it’s important to understand that the role can be fast-paced, full on and you will spend your days on your feet. You’ll also need to be a great communicator and happy to learn the technique elements of the job such as colour theory and cutting angles. This isn’t for everyone, but for a barber, it’s the best job there is out there. |
| Yes! As long as you are over the age of 16 and not in full-time education, you can undertake an apprenticeship to become a hairdresser. Many of our learners find apprenticeships are a great way to make a career move – at any age! |
