Leading training provider Realise has retained the industry quality assurance accreditation for a host of its health and social care courses.
The Quality Assured Care Learning Service (QACLS) - led by the Department of Health and Social Care – seeks to ensure accessible, high-quality training that meets the needs of the workforce and those who rely on care and support.
Eleven of Realise’s health and social care programmes have the quality assurance mark through the QACLS scheme, including the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate.
The programmes were recently re-assessed and the accreditations retained.
Lesley O’Connor, Head of Strategic Development at Realise, said: “We are delighted to have retained our quality assured status for so many of our courses.
“The quality assurance is all about driving up standards in the industry by looking at programmes individually rather than as the training provider as a whole.
“Assessors look at a wide range of evidence, including testimonials, achievement rates and policies to ensure everything is as it should be. It’s a thorough process that offers peace of mind.”
From next year, health and social care employers will only be able to claim funding from Government’s Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS) for courses that have been quality assured.
Care providers currently have to replace almost a third of their workers each year due to staff leaving their jobs. This high turnover has a negative impact on the quality of care - and the DHSC hopes the QACLS endorsement will help boost retention.
Realise is striving to have all its health and social care programmes approved through QACLS.
